Syndicate Smackdown is a game me and my team primely worked on for University from January 2024 - April 2024. Throughout May, some polish has been added to improve the over all quality of the experience.

Elevator Pitch

​

Hotline Miami meets Enter the Gungeon
2.5D Top-down Bullet Hell
Tasked with taking down the big three mafia families within a 1930s retro-futuristic city, granted only a Bat for defence and as a means to fight back.

Game Concept

 

Syndicate Smackdown is a game all about parrying, the player must run through the level and hit the enemies bullets back at them as a means of attacking.

My Contributions​

​

  • I was responsible for the core game concept of parrying.

  • I designed the different ammo types available. 

  • I helped design how the Smackdown mechanic would work. (Allows you to stun enemies and kill them).

  • I worked on designing the tutorial to teach players mechanics.

  • I worked on level design throughout all levels.

  • I took a large amount of responsible for object and enemy placement throughout all the levels.

  • I took a lead design role on the Casino level

  • I provided bug fixing, some examples being bug fixing for the explosive barrels and UI elements.

  • I designed both boss fights present.

  • I programmed and designed boss health bars.

  • I was responsible for all of the enemy dialogue.
